The ministry of health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, is advising owners of boats and/or vessels anchored or abandoned along the Kirani James Boulevard that they must be removed on/orbefore tomorrow.
That’s in accordance with the Waste Management Act, No.16 of 2001 and the Abatement of Litter Act, No. 24 of 2015.
Owners requiring assistance in removing their boat or boats were asked to contact the Ministry of Health or Ministry of Tourism, no later than 3 pm today.
Failure to comply with the request, a release says, will result in the removal of boats or vessels by agents of the State.
Boats or vessels deemed repairable will be taken to a secure holding facility before any further action is taken, in accordance with the law.
The Ministries says they will not be held liable for any damage to property that may arise as a result of the removal process.
