The recently held Ministry of Sport Independence Open Water Swim engaged several of our club swimmers. The top ten boys and the top ten girls of those who participated in the Saturday February 4th. event were mainly of the various swimming clubs on the island, and among them some of our national swimmers.

In the female category of the 1km, national swimmer, Tilly Collymore captured the first position in a time of 12:01.85. She was followed by club swimmer and national triathlon athlete, Nina James in a time of 13:00.36 . Sara Dowden another National Swimmer, captured the third position in a time of 13:02.85.

In the boys category, national swimmer,Zackary Gresham captured the first position clocking 11:14.43. Gresham was followed by Dejanel Williams who clocked 11:31.78. The third position was captured by club swimmer, Jacob Collymore who clocked 12:45.47.
We are proud that there has been a positive showing from several of our club and national swimmers.GASA extends congratulations to these swimmers and all other swimmers who participated in the event. The Open water event took Place at the Grand Mal beach, St. George and was organised by Coach Nataly Regis of the Ministry of Sport.
