In a global push to combat infectious diseases and bolster public health, nations around the world are observing Vaccination Week.
Grenada joins in on the observance.
The annual initiative is designed to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination in preventing illness and saving lives.
Here in Grenada, this week will be observed as the twenty-second Annual Vaccination Week in the Americas in conjunction with the thirteenth observance of World Immunization Week.
Grenada’s Health Minister, Philip Telesford, speaks about the critical role vaccines play in public health.
Minister Telesford says throughout history, vaccines have been a cornerstone of public health achievements, as they have saved countless lives, alleviated immense suffering, and consigned once-deadly diseases to the annals of history.
The Grenada Health Minister noted that during this Week individuals should seek to empower each other to make informed health decisions.
