JANUARY 7TH 2023 HAS BEEN DECLARED AS UWI DAY

Tomorrow January 7^th 2023 has been declared as UWI day.

The Proclamation was made yesterday by Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Cécile La Grenade.

The proclamation by islands across the Caribbean region is part of year long activities to commemorate the University’s 75^th anniversary.

UWI representatives and alumni such as Her Excellency and Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell attended a ceremony at the governor general residence yesterday where she presented the proclamation declaring January 7^th 2023 as UWI day.

Dame Cécile says it’s significant to set aside a day acknowledging that the University of the West Indies has contributed to the successes of Grenadians and other nationals for over 7 decades.
