Looking at the matter between MNIB’s former CEO Ruel Edwards and the Integrity Commission in the High Court, an article taken from Now Grenada News website indicates that Justice Godfrey Smith has decided to provide judgment later this month, June 28.

The trial was set for today but it did not go ahead as scheduled.

Arising out of the MNIB situation concerned alleged financial wrong-doing, Ruel Edwards, the former CEO of the entity is contending that the Integrity Commission doesn’t have the authority to investigate the matter.

The court had given both parties up to the end of last month to file their submissions, but while the Integrity commission fulfilled its obligation, the legal counsel for Edwards failed to do so.

He is now given June 14 to meet the requirement, while the Integrity Commission will have to respond on June 21, following which Justice Smith will provide his judgment on June 28.

And, this is once both parties comply with the deadline for legal submissions.

As the matter was conducted today and while Cadjeton Hood, Edwards’ Legal counsel, failed to provide any submissions, he requested an extension, which was granted.
