0

The Government of Grenada  with support from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), continues to advance  project activities aimed at developing a Sustainable Road-Based Public Transport Plan for the tri-island. Several consultations, workshops, and field studies have been conducted to date. The online survey, another critical element in the data gathering  process, will be released in the coming days.

The project which was officially launched on March 9th, 2022 aims to provide  recommendations to improve the overall efficiency and quality of public transport and,  public transport infrastructure, as well as strengthen the policy, institutional and  regulatory structures for operating road-based public transport. Technical expertise for  this initiative is provided by a consortium of consulting firms – Multicriteria Planning (MCRIT), ILACO, and Insuco.

The Ministry solicits broad-based participation from all stakeholders in this exercise.  To complete the survey, go to https://www.grenadapublictransportplan.com/ or scan the  QR code seen on our posters across the island. We only need 10 minutes of your time to share your views and experiences on the current operation of the public transport  system.

The consulting team will be visiting Carriacou and Petit Martinique during the week of  November 21, 2022, to conduct public consultations.

It is anticipated that the study will be completed by the end of the first quarter in 2023. We look forward to the cooperation and support of all stakeholders.
