As Grenada prepares to host its jubilee celebration, “Made in Grenada” a local entertainment company, is setting up itself to host a bumper activity, already being advertised, entitled ‘Calypso at 50’.
Founder and CEO of “Made in Grenada”, Dexter Mitchell, says the Calypso industry has provided the soundtrack for Grenada’s social and political journey over the past fifty years and more.
Mitchell says it’s only fitting that as Grenada celebrates its 50th anniversary of Independence, the excellence that is Grenada’s calypso be given its own stage, to showcase its brilliance and relevance to Grenada’s history.
Mitchell says the exemplary cast will feature a total of 13 Calypsonians, who, among them, have amassed over 60 National Calypso titles.
Mitchell says the once-in-a-lifetime event takes place at the National Cricket Stadium and he’s inviting all to come out and witness ‘Calypso at 50’.
