MAN SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

A 35-YEAR-OLD Unemployed man of Coals Gap, St. David, Lance Edwards, who was charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, has been sentenced to two years at His Majesty’s Prison.

Edwards made his final court appearance at the St. David Magistrate Court, late last week where he was convicted.

Edwards was charged with the offences following an operation conducted by police on Saturday 18th May 2024, in which one .380-caliber Star pistol along with four .380-caliber rounds of ammunition were found in the vehicle he was driving.

The RGPF, meanwhile, reminding the public that taking advantage of the firearm amnesty will prevent criminal charges and ultimately harsh penalties for possession of firearm or ammunition.

It says it will also reduce other firearm-related incidents, thus making the country safer.
