A St. David resident whose checked in luggage turned up 2 kilos of cocaine hidden in a false compartment has been charged with trafficking of a controlled drug.

Alstand Necarl Edwards, 33, of Windsor Forest was nabbed by police on September 18th 2019, as he attempted to board an outbound flight at the Maurice Bishop International Airport.

Edwards appeared at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court on Monday 23rd September, 2019 and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons.

He will reappear in Court on October 3rd 2019.
