MID-YEAR CRIMINAL ASSIZES ENDS AND AMONG SENTENCES BELMONT MAN GETS 43 AND A HALF YEARS FOR NON-CAPITAL MURDER

The Mid-Year Criminal assizes wrapped up proceedings on Monday, with a few sentences dished out.

35-year-old Calvin Frank of Springs, St. George, was sent to prison for 43 years, 10 months and six days, after pleading guilty in this assizes to the charge of non-capital murder.

In January 2021, Police slapped the charge on Frank, in connection with the death of Lindy Skinner of Jean Anglais, St. George.

It’s been reported that Skinner had received multiple stab wounds to her body.

Skinner has been described as Frank’s ex-lover and the incident, according to some reports, has been described as a “crime of passion”.

It was recorded as Grenada’s first homicide for the year.

Frank was sentenced today by Justice Paula Gilford.

He was represented by Attorney Anslem Clouden.

Clouden recommended initiatives of counseling and anger management for Frank.

Clouden stated that it was one of those situations where emotions and the whole sort of congregation of the bad taste in human relations, and rather than walking away, Frank just lost it.

According to Mr. Clouden, it was a matter where the deceased had owed Calvin Frank one hundred and fifty dollars, as the Attorney explains.
