MINISTER CORNWALL CALLS ON YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE TOLERANT IN LIGHT OF TWO HOMICIDE INCIDENTS IN HIS CONSTITUENCY

The Parish of St. Patrick and in particular the constituency of St. Patrick East in recent weeks have fallen victim to two homicide cases.

Earlier this month police arrested and charged Neron Chitan with non-capital murder for causing the death of Knoxford Smith, a labourer of River Sallee, St. Patrick.

An as recent as this week a fatal stabbing incident took the life of Rickelson Toussaint another member of the community of River Sallee in St. Patrick.

Today 22-year-old Jahim George made his first court appearance charged for Non-Capital Murder in association with Toussaint’s death.

MP for St. Patrick East Hon. Denis Cornwall where both Victims are from, speaking at the government’s town hall meeting last evening in St. Andrew, made a clarion call on young people to be tolerant.

Minister Cornwall said the homicide situation is very worrying.

Minister Cornwall made a call on family members, to reach out to the young people in their communities.
