Health Minister, Nickolas Steele, says the Government of Grenada will not hesitate to put stricter measures in place to help keep the recent COVID cluster under control.
He makes the point hours after it was released that nine new positive laboratory diagnosed cases of COVID-19 have brought the country’s overall total to 94.
45 are active cases.
Based on the size of the cluster and vigorous contact tracing efforts, the number of positive cases, the Ministry of Health says, is constantly changing, as more tests are being conducted and many other individuals are carded to be re-tested in the coming days.
Steele, in an interview today, says Grenada is currently experiencing an outbreak of the COVID 19 virus and the general view is that it needs urgent attention.
The health minister, meanwhile, continues to give praise to front line workers who, according to him, operate way beyond the call of duty.

Persons who may be suspicious that they’ve been exposed to the virus or are displaying symptoms consistent with those of the Coronavirus should isolate and contact the COVID Hotline at 538-4787, or the nearest health centre.
Word from the Government Information Service is that the Health Minister is to address the Nation 8 o’clock this evening.
