The nation returned to regular duty today after what can be described as a rather tranquil Easter holiday, which, for yet another time, fell within the period of the Nation’s fight against the global COVID pandemic. And, while restrictions remained in vogue to help reduce the incidence of the pandemic here, individuals still found time to enjoy the moment, taking into consideration the necessary safeguards.

There’s been no information of any major incidents, and, it could well be that the signs point in the direction of a rather serene occasion, surrounding the festivity.

As the Nation gets back to work, the Ministry of Health remains on the ball and has drawn up a schedule concerning its COVID vaccination programme for the month of April, undertaking to ensure that a majority of Grenadians are vaccinated against the virus.

This week vaccination locations centre around the Radisson Resort and the Stadium.

Today, the Radisson Resort was the centre authorized for COVID vaccinations and tomorrow will be at the Stadium, and Thursday the Radisson Resort.

On Friday and Saturday, vaccinations will be conducted at both locations, the Radisson Resort and the Stadium.

The exercise will be conducted between the hours of nine in the morning and two in the afternoon.

The general view, according to Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, is that the greater the population that’s vaccinated and can guarantee protection against the virus, the quicker Grenada can approach some semblance of normalcy.

He continues to appeal to citizens to get vaccinated.

Speaking in an Address to the Nation recently, Dr. Mitchell noted that vaccination holds the key to any return to life as we know it.

The Prime Minister further called on inhabitants to be mindful of the devastating effects of COVID-19.
