The Ministry Of Health reports it’s noticing an improved COVID-vaccination programme, where, for two straight days, the number of persons taking the vaccines crossed the one thousand mark each day.
At the close of the vaccination exercise yesterday, it’s been recorded that some 1,004 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were administered…803 people received their first dose and 201 received their second shot.
The figure relating to the number of persons taking the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine stands at 15,738, as of yesterday and 6,855, the number of persons taking the second dose.
Currently, there no active coronavirus cases on record.
Statistics show Grenada with a total of 161 confirmed cases, since the first case was identified March last year, out of which there were 160 recoveries.
There’s been 1 death.
There are currently 401 individuals in quarantine facilities.
As it relates to total RT-PCR Tests, some 299 have been conducted since the last report, bringing the number to 29, 503.
As it relates to the latest drive with the COVID-19 Vaccination programme, Dr. Myanna Charles, Assistant to the Chief Medical Officer, says the signs over the past few days in Grenada have been very promising.
Dr. Myanna Charles believes the latest situation pushes Grenada on the right course, responding positively in the battle against the coronavirus.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shawn Charles, meanwhile, reiterates that things are looking encouraging and their efforts have proven fruitful.
Dr. Charles says vaccination is the path every country is embarking on currently, in fighting the coronavirus.
