The Ministry of Health says it’s continuing to strengthen its systems, in the fight against the coronavirus.

In this regard, it has tightened its restrictions concerning quarantine.

REPORT:

In recent days the Ministry of Health has moved away from approving requests for home quarantine and that State quarantine is becoming the mandate.

The Ministry of Health says it’s aware that the virus is rampant in several of their source markets, such as the United States, from where many nationals travel.

Currently, all countries are being treated as “high risk” countries, and the protocols for travelers entering Grenada are standard.

United Kingdom, have begun administering vaccinations against COVID-19 to their populations, Grenada, like its CARICOM neighbours, is rigorously sourcing and preparing its internal systems for the receipt and distribution of vaccines, which will help the population fight the virus, and mitigate severe illness and death in the event of contraction.

The ministry says it will ensure that Grenada is able to catch and stop the virus at the borders or while travelers are in quarantine.

The population, therefore, is being urged to do what is necessary to avoid contracting and spreading the virus. Sheena Phillip-Lynch, Wee Fm News.
