Looking at the Carnival scene in the Sister Isles, Sashelle Alves, who hails from the village of Windward, emerged victorious last evening, claiming the coveted title of Carriacou Carnival Queen.
Alves faced off against four other competitors, all vying for the prestigious title.
She scored victory in multiple categories, including Best Oral Speech, Best Costume, Best Evening Wear, Best Interview, and Social Media Favorite.
The first runner-up, Aaliyah Henry, representing Soubise from the mainland, was exceptional in the talent category; second runner-up was Kenya Alexander, representing Paraclete, also from mainland Grenada.
Reports from Carriacou attest to Alves’ captivating portrayal on stage, where she displayed poise, beauty, and fashion.
Carnival activities on the sister isles will heighten this evening with the staging of fantastic Friday where 9 groovy and 11 Soca finalists will vie for the title of Soca and Groovy monarchs.
The order of appearance for the groovy final Lady B in position 1; Flavah 2; Mentii in position 3; followed by Shania; Big Red; Mozo; Mirage7; 2 Blaxx 8 and Killa B in position 9.
Information reaching us is that Mr. Gold’N, the reigning groovy monarch, will not be defending his title.
In the Soca Monarch competition, Big Red will start things off, followed by, Mirage, Flavah, Mozo the defending monarch in position 4, Shanda in position 5, Super Flying Flint 6, Silver Bullet 7, followed by Playboy HTD, Killa B 9, Black Blingers 10 and bringing down the curtains will be Lady B in position 11.
