Meanwhile, The Ministry of health says it’s working vigorously to complete a backlog of tests pending.
We understand they’ve increased the use of PCR machines to help address the problem.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Francis Martin, says the recent spike in positive cases has resulted in a delay in testing, as well as providing results for tests that were conducted.
He says the additional PCR machines are now being used to reduce the waiting period for tests to be conducted.
Dr. Martin explained the process how testing is conducted and what warrants a second test for individuals who are currently in quarantine.
