St. George’s, Grenada – Monday 5th March, 2018.

The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) with the technical assistance of the Meteorological Office at the Maurice Bishop International Airport is monitoring a mid-latitude cyclone circulation and an associated cold front located in the northern Atlantic Ocean (the front now located in the northern Lesser Antilles) that have produced some northerly swells.

This has led to the deterioration of local sea conditions with waves expected to be as high at 10 feet in northerly swells.

Thereforea marine advisory remains in effect due to the northerly swells.

Sea users and motorists travelling on the south and western coasts should be extremely cautious due to battering waves.

NaDMA together with the Meteorological office will continue to provide pertinent information
