Digitization of the health system is one of five key factors in the Government embracing the development of the health sector over the next 24 months.
He says since taking over the portfolio of Health he has been able to review the strategic plan and is ready for the sector going forward.
Health Minister, Phillip Telesford, speaking at a News Conference this afternoon says it makes for good service delivery.
Minister Telesford speaks of investment in capacity building and human resource development upon which is the fundamental principle in moving the health sector forward, as well as investment in equipment.
He also noted the need for investment in infrastructural upgrades.
Minister Telesford also made note of strengthening the public health surveillance system and emergency management under the OECS Regional Project.
Among current trends relating to public health surveillance, is acute respiratory infection, as we hear from Dr. Shawn Charles, the country’s Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Charles did make mention of the coronavirus, which according to him has been mild.
