NADMA RECEIVES STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT FROM US SOUTHERN COMMAND

The National Disaster Management Agency NADMA is said to be more equipped to deal with disasters.

This, as the agency has received training and state-of-the-art equipment from the US southern command, valuing at 450 thousand dollars.

The equipment for both facilities located at Morne Jaloux and Belair in Carriacou was officially handed over to NADMA officials, marking a significant milestone in the completion of the emergency operations center and disaster warehouse projects.

Disaster coordinator Dr. Terrance Walters thanked the US government for its continued support and assured that the gifts will strengthen the agencies capabilities.

Chief military liaison officer for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Commander Jamie Collins commended the Government of Grenada and NADMA for its stance on disaster preparedness.

US Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Linda Taglialatela also commended NADMA on its commitment to boost and maintain preparedness effort in an out of disaster periods.
