The staff of the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) today commenced a 2-day training workshop on radio communication and procedure.

The Agency is equipping staff with the tools and knowledge to successfully mount a response in times when needed.

National Disaster Coordinator at NaDMA, Dr. Terrence Walters, speaking about the Emergency Communications Training, says the work-shop, the first in a series of capacity-building sessions planned for this year, involves the disaster management process.

Speaking about the effects of climate change and the significant impact on the region in recent times, Dr. Walters reiterates that preparation is mostly paramount.

Facilitating the initiative is NaDMA’s Warehouse Manager, Sergeant Allison Mc Sween, and Communications IT representative, Davon Phillip.
