A Grenada opposition party is getting ready for its 2019 Convention.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is now said to be on a mobilization drive to woo support for its 3rd November Trade Centre political affair.

On this occasion, major among other posts, delegates will be called upon to select a new political leader.

The Congress has not held any major political activity since the last general election when it consecutively lost all fifteen seats and is now on a nationwide mobilization drive to set its upcoming Convention in motion.

The party has embarked on a series of outdoor community meetings.

After the polls in 2018, the party’s leader, Nazim Burke, called it quits, leaving his Deputy, Joseph Andall, to be the   interim leader.

Whether Andall will command the position as the Party’s new Boss is left to be seen.

A few names of individuals with political leadership aspiration have been emerging in several quarters and party activists have been throwing it out within their ranks.

One party activist, who contested the last general election on an NDC ticket, is promoting the November 3, 2019 political affair at the Trade Centre as one that will be of great significance in the organization’s march forward.

He believes the NDC has been regrouping nicely and working as a team.

In an earlier conversation we heard that the political organization was intent on remodeling its constitution in time for the upcoming Convention, the theme of which will be announced in due course.

Apart from the Leader of the party, all other posts are said to be up for grabs.
