NDC Elects Dickon Mitchell As Its New Leader

The rank and file of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) elects Attorney-at-Law, Dickon Mitchell, as its new leader.

Dickon won the hearts of some 227 delegates at the partyโ€™s Convention yesterday.

He received the nod comprehensively, beating Phillip Telesford who received 43 votes and Terrence Forrester 7, in the leadership race.

Dickon Mitchell, delivering his victory speech to party delegates says the NDC is onward to the Nationโ€™s rebuilding, where all have a part to play in the process.

Having been successful in the leadership venture, Dickon Mitchell tells the delegates thanks.

Dickon says NDC has taken the first step in transforming the politics of Grenada.

The new NDC Political Leader noted that heโ€™s ready for the path ahead together.

Dickon Mitchell reiterates the need for the transformation of Grenada to begin forthwith saying, and, in his words, โ€œthere is no rebuilding without you and I.โ€

Other individuals elected as part of the new executive of the organization are:- Adrian Thomas (Deputy Political Leader), Tevin Andrews (Chairman), Sylvester Quarless (Deputy Chairman), Learie Barry (General Secretary), Assistant General Secretaries Rickelson Scott, Belinda Charles and ย Ron Redhead; Cindy Henry (Recording Secretary), Tereisha Fortune (Assistant Recording Secretary), Orlando Romain (PRO), Randal Robinson (Assistant PRO), Andre Charles (Labor Relations Officer), Andrea St. Bernard (Treasurer) and Floor members Lennox Andrews, Elwyn McQuilkin and Garvyn Pierre.
