The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the People of Grenada are deeply saddened by the passing of Sister Annie James, mother of our Olympian and World Champion Athlete Kirani James. A mother is irreplaceable since nothing can compare with a mother’s love. We must take comfort in knowing that she has transcended to a better place in the arms of our Lord.
Sister Annie has played a foundational role in the history of Grenada by giving the country her son Kirani. Her contribution to his personal and professional success is well known and is a manifestation of the tremendous qualities she possessed. Her passing is a tremendous loss to her family, the people of Gouyave and the entire country.
The NDC extends its deepest condolences to Kirani and the family and friends of Sister Annie James. She will be truly missed and we stand by your side in this moment of bereavement.
