As we celebrate the biggest milestone on the Christian calendar, we take this opportunity, on behalf of the National Democratic Congress, to recognise and thank all those who have worked to make Grenada a more caring society.
The occasion of Christmas reminds us of the need to be our sisters’ and brothers’ keepers. Let us use the season to recommit ourselves to be of service to others, to keep striving to be better citizens and to building a nation that we can all be proud of.
In the midst of the festivities, let’s remember to limit our alcohol intake, and for those of us who will be driving, let’s avoid putting ourselves and others in harm’s way through reckless conduct.
We ask you to remember the less fortunate among us and those who have lost loved ones at this time of the year. Let us keep them all in our thoughts and prayers and where possible, reach out to them with a kind word or deed.
To our teachers and public officers who have made patriotic sacrifices and are now faced with a less than merry Christmas we say hold the fort. Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.
We extend a special greeting to the members of the security services for the fantastic job you do to keep us safe.
To all those who have contributed to the national effort, we wish you a safe, spirit-filled and enjoyable Christmas.
