There are new arrangements for funerals, as outlined today in a joint statement coming from the religious community and funeral directors, according to Reverend Sylbert Prescod Head of the Conference of Churches.
Reverend Prescod spoke of the clergy and funeral directors understanding the plight of persons who mourn their dead at this COVID juncture but there’s every need to keep persons attending funerals safe, and to avoid gatherings and any further spread of the virus.
Noting the cultural trends of a compassionate citizenry, though, the joint statement indicated it’s not the point now where persons can be put at risk, hence consideration has been given as it relates to the conduct of funeral operations.
