A new non-resident Japanese Ambassador is to be introduced to Grenada tomorrow.
Tatsuo Hirayama (He-ra-yama), Ambassador Designate of Japan, will present his credentials to Governor General, Dame Cecile La Grenade.
Reporters have been invited to witness the event at Governor General’s Residence, from 10 in the morning.
Japan and Grenada established full diplomatic relations in April 1975. Grenada and Japan don’t have their own embassies in the two countries.
Grenada and Japan have been engaged in matters of cooperation concerning the fishing, education, culture, agriculture.
Japan was one time reported to have donated musical equipment for the start-up of a musical programme through the Nation’s secondary school.
Most of the equipment, however, were damaged during the passage of hurricane Ivan in 2004.
