Foster Gittens is a past principal of the school.

The Foster Gittens Memorial Scholarship was established in 1987 to honour the outstanding contribution made to education and general community-building in St. Paul’s by the late Foster Gittens as Principal of the St. Paul’s Government School 1952-1962.

The Scholarship is administered by the non-profit charitable Foster Gittens Memorial Foundation Inc.

Its donors include Francis Alexis, Commancheros New York Support Organization, and Rheta Robinson-Thomas.

This brings Ms. Bruno $500 dollars cash annually while holding the Scholarship and an appropriately worded scroll.

She received the prize at her school’s graduation yesterday from Rheta Robinson-Thomas, a Director of the Foster Gittens Memorial Foundation Inc.

Nichola Bruno heads for the St. Joseph’s Covent, St. George’s, come September.

Five young people hold Foster Gittens Memorial Scholarships every year in various secondary schools.

Some of its past scholars are currently at Universities.
