With the recent spike in covid-19 cases in Grenada, the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) says itโs prepared for an increase in the number of Covid-19 sickness benefit claims.
The scheme, over the past seven months, has been offering support to persons who have had to be placed in isolation due to COVID-19.
NIS Director, Dorsett Cromwell, says an employee whoโs asked to isolate can apply for benefit without a doctorโs letter.
Cromwell says this particular sickness-benefit claim was launched earlier this year and based on current circumstances is expecting to see an increase in the number of claims, being submitted with the recentย spike in COVID cases here.
