Back at home, General Secretary of the New National Party (NNP), Roland Bhola, says the St. Andrew North-West round of the organization’s Constituency engagements was a successful meeting.
It’s the second time since losing the last general elections NNP has organized a series of Constituency meetings, keeping in touch with supporters.
Last week, seemingly disillusioned, it was observed that the MP for the area, Delma Thomas, staged a meeting which was widely circulated where she uttered several points of dissatisfaction.
She is one of the six members of the party who won their seats in the June 23, 2022 general elections, which went down 9-6 in favour of the National Democratic Congress, following which she held close cooperation with her namesake in the NDC, Gloria Thomas, now responsible for Social Affairs.
Mrs. Delma Thomas, however, did not attend the party’s meeting last night.
We did ask the General Secretary whether she was invited.
Roland Bhola says many issues were raised last night concerning the governance of the country, especially affecting low income groups in the society.
