OECS Member states, including Grenada, are eyeing the 42nd year anniversary of the sub-regional movement, with most activities centered in the territory of St. Kitts/Nevis.

Officials see it as a milestone worth commemorating.

Activities are guided under the theme, ‘Vision, Integration, Sustainability, Progress”.

The big occasion, the 73rd OECS Authority meeting, which usually deals with financial and development matters, will be held Sunday and Monday in St. Kitts/Nevis, under the Chairmanship of that country’s Prime Minister, Dr. Terrence Drew.

Grenada will be represented at the meeting by Finance Minister, Dennis Cornwall, who will be accompanied by Garth Walters.

The opening ceremony of the 73rd OECS Authority meeting will be 5pm Sunday.

In commemoration of the 42nd year celebrations, several activities have been organized, including a fun walk on Saturday in the Federation.

Young people across the region yesterday participated in a knowledge-based Poll about the OECS, via the U-Report Platform.

Tomorrow is designated OECS Colours Day, where citizens across the landscape are urged to show their pride and support  of the sub-regional integration movement by wearing the OECS Colours, of green, white, yellow and navy blue.
