The Princess Alice Hospital in St. Andrew will be retro-fitted with an operating theatre.

The latest move is part of the health sector’s ongoing plans to improve services and to decentralize health care to better serve citizens.

The more than two hundred thousand dollars project will also see the construction of staff quarters and a laundry room.

Permanent Secretary with responsibility for Hospital and

Community Health Services, Hannah Julien-St. Paul, speaks of the work in progress.

She further added that work is also ongoing on the installation of new equipment in phase two of the General Hospital project in St. George’s.
