Thursday, 15th September, 2022: Opposition Leader, Dr. the Right Honorable Keith Mitchell has confirmed that he has previously made arrangements to sign the condolence book of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II when the book is opened at the House of Parliament on Monday.
On learning of the passing of the late Queen, the Opposition Leader who is also a member of the Accession Council by virtue of being a Privy Councilor, immediately issued a public statement, which came hours before that of the Government, extending condolences. He has also confirmed that his office has been in touch with members of the Opposition Team who are on island presently and most have already signed the book while others will do so on Monday.
