Opposition Leader, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, today dashed cold water on the NDC-controlled Government’s 2024 Budget, indicating that it leaves the poor and vulnerable in limbo.
He argued that the many priority sectors, like health, youth, housing, seed social services, the debushing programme, agriculture, taxes, CBI Investments and crime and security, among others are lamentable.
In most cases he complained of what he described as the Government’s policy deception with attacks on the poor and vulnerable.
Looking at Agriculture, Dr. Mitchell says it’s a sector of major concern.
Dr. Mitchell blames the Government for not doing much to ease inflationary pressures.
Examining the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure, the Opposition leader says there’s a burning question left to be answered.
Dr. Mitchell is of the view that the Finance Minister doesn’t have confidence in the Budget statement he provided in the Lower House of Parliament Monday last.
