Pan Musician David Peck Edwards Laid To Rest Today

The sweet sounds of steel from Suzuki Pan Wizards in recognition of David “Peck” Edwards who’s been laid to rest today.

Edwards was a cultural icon who passed away on the 19 of last month after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Over the years Peck dedicated himself to the development of pan throughout Grenada, where he arranged music and won more than a dozen national panorama competitions.

For many years he was associated with New Dimension Steel Orchestra and most recently Suzuki Pan Wizards.

He also arranged for the Rainbow City All Stars of St. Andrew, a year when they emerged panorama champions.

Peck’s funeral service took place at the national stadium this afternoon, and he got a resounding steel pan farewell.

The steel band movement in neighboring Trinidad and Tobago, Pan Trinbago also paid tribute recognizing Peck Edwards for his contribution to the art form.

President of the Grenada Steel Band Association Victor Ashby describes Peck Edwards as a stalwart in the pan movement.

 CEO of the Grenada Cultural Foundation remembers Peck for the valuable contributor he was to the cultural art form.
