The parliamentary representative for the parish of St. John, Hon. Alvin Da-breo, is clarifying what he terms to be some misconceptions about work being done now on the Lance Bridge.

Notice was sent out earlier this week informing the general public, particularly motorists, that the Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for approximately one week.

According to the closure notice from the RGPF, it’s necessary to accommodate much-needed repairs to the expansion joints on the Lance Bridge, with the removal and cleaning of existing joints and replacement of new materials and resurfacing.

It’s being rumored that work done on the bridge almost 3 years ago was not properly done, hence the recent closure to do remedial work.

But Mr. DaBreo explains this is not so.

When asked whether remedial work will have to be done again Mr. Da-Breo had this to say.
