In recognition of September as Basic Education and Literacy Month, the Rotary Club of Grenada East continued its commitment to education and youth development through its Pathway to Promise: Back-to-School Initiative, supporting students and the school community of St. Giles Anglican Primary School.
Executed on September 1st, 2026, the Club selected St. Giles Anglican Primary School—a rural school serving approximately 100 students—as this year’s beneficiary. The project reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to targeted support for student development and educational success. For the past three years, structural challenges affecting the school’s original facilities have required it to share premises with Holy Cross Roman Catholic School; despite these circumstances, it continues to provide educational opportunities and pursue improved academic outcomes.
Responding to priorities identified by school management, the Rotary Club of Grenada East focused on literacy and numeracy, foundational skills essential to students’ academic development and future success. Through the Pathway to Promise initiative, the Club reaffirmed its belief that every child deserves the resources and opportunities to succeed while supporting students and educators who continue to demonstrate resilience in challenging circumstances.
As the Club joins Rotary clubs around the world in recognizing Basic Education and Literacy Month, it remains committed to initiatives that empower students, strengthen educational opportunities, and contribute to the development of resilient and thriving communities.
