Word from the Police is that a 28-year-old resident from Plains, St. Patrick, goes to prison for the possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Sandy Fortune is reported to have been arrested and charged for the offences.

He appeared at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where he pleaded guilty to both offenses.

He was sentenced to Her Majesty’s Prison for twenty-eight months on the charge of Firearm possession and twenty months for Possession of Ammunition.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

A report from the police noted that the Firearm and ammunition were discovered during a special operation conducted by the Rapid Response Unit December 31 last year.
