The Planning and Development Authority (PDA) once known as the Government’s Physical Planning Unit held another public consultation last evening, to get feedbacks from the public, as it relates to a proposed new application fee.
The PDA is set up to address the complex challenges by reforming the regulatory system of Grenada’s building and construction sector.
Other aspects of the PDA mandates include developing and implementing national physical planning policies, promoting sustainable land use practices, and coordinating development projects nationwide.
One of the major undertakings of the authority is to restructure and update the current fee arrangement, which will be payable directly to the authority and no longer to the Inland Revenue Division.
Chief Executive Officer at the PDA Kelly Bartholomew says the new proposed fee structure is necessary to help the authority meet its needs.
Senior accounts officer at the PDA Joah Thomas spoke of one of the areas Sub Division that will undergo changes in its fee structure.
Thomas highlighted another two areas that will undergo changes.
