Plans Well Underway For 48th Anniversary Of Independence Calypso Competition

Officials of the Independence Calypso Monarch Committee say plans are well underway for the staging of the 2022 Independence competition, carded for February 4.

Nine finalists will be selected to come up against the reigning Independence Monarch, Sean Niles.

Due to the increased confirmed COVID cases, the event which is part of Grenada’s 48^th Independence Anniversary celebrations, will be held virtually.

Speaking on artistes’ participation, Coordinator of the Independence Calypso Monarch competition, Adrian Mark says January 19 is the deadline for entry into this year’s event.

Mark says patrons are promised a great production.
