Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell.

He left the state last Saturday for what is said to be previously arranged personal business.

Although concerned about the country’s increase in COVID-19 cases, Dr. Mitchell noted being unable to further delay his trip, the primary purpose of which is to undergo his annual medical check-up.

It’s his first trip outside of State since the start of the pandemic, indicating that his annual medical is more than a year overdue.

He’s expected to return to Grenada August 28.

In the meantime, Finance Minister, Gregory Bowen, is currently acting in the capacity of Prime Minister…appointed to the position in Dr. Mitchell’s absence.
