An alarm from passers by this morning forced lawmen to visit the “Keep Left” area of Upper Melville Street mid-morning where there have been reports of a drowning.
Rushing to the scene, it was brought to our attention that the report pertaining to a drowning was false, but the circumstances did warrant attention.
It’s been alleged that a mentally-ill woman was seen in the Melville street area with her two children out at sea, but there was still no real truth to the statement, since it was revealed when the Police visited the scene, that the children were never in the sea with the woman.
The scene attracted curious onlookers.
Wee FM News spoke with the daughter of the mentally-ill woman.
She gave us an indication as to what happened..
The mentally-ill woman, we were told, was taken to the hospital for an assessment.
