Law enforcement officers are being called upon to get vaccinated, in the wake of rising cases of COVID-19 in Grenada and which has affected some members of the RGPF.
The island’s top cop substantiates the need for his officers to get vaccinated as the best shot at this time, in protecting themselves and also members of the public.
Commissioner Edvin Martin was speaking at a news conference earlier this week on the number of positive cases that were recently confirmed within the rank and file of the RGPF.
He noted that the role of the RGPF is very critical at this stage in the fight against COVID-19.
As frontline workers he says officers must do all they can to protect themselves, to protect each other and the nation, as a whole.
The rate of vaccination in the force is just over 300 and Commissioner Martin is saying it’s not good enough.
