93 acres of land have been identified in the Calivigny area as a potential site for the construction of a new and modernized climate smart hospital.
The site was visited recently by Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell along with health minister Jonathan Lacrette and other government officials.
Prime Minister Mitchell late last year while presenting the budget debate indicated that health was a priority area for his government moving forward.
He says the ultimate goal is to transform Grenada into the health capital of the Eastern Caribbean, which means the highest quality in healthcare facilities and services with access for all.
