Twenty-one secondary schools recently participated in a 2-day activity, put on by GRENLEC geared at putting things in place for the 2024 Grenlec Debating season.
It focused on delivering presentations effectively, language, voice and body language, the importance of in-depth research and time management.
In 2023, the Grenlec Debates format was changed to impromptu to promote students’ critical thinking and communication skills, as well as boost their self-confidence.
The training was designed to equip students to manage the requirements of the impromptu presentations.
The teams and their coaches described the sessions as interesting, interactive and helpful.
The 2024 edition of the Grenlec Debates will begin in September.
