Presentation Brothers College (PBC) emerged champions of the 2026 Secondary Schools’ Financial Quiz Knockout Competition, defeating defending champions Westmorland Secondary, 105 points to
85.

The exciting final showcased the financial knowledge, teamwork and competitive spirit of Grenada’s secondary school students. The closely contested final featured three rounds of questions, with PBC demonstrating consistency, confidence and a strong understanding of financial concepts to secure the coveted title. Westmorland Secondary put up a determined fight, while St. George’s Institute secured third place based on points accumulated during the semifinal leg of the competition.

The competition concluded with a closing ceremony at the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC) Conference Room on Wednesday 28th October, recognizing the achievements and efforts of the participating schools with a total of $6,000 in prizes being distributed.

The 2026 competition was hosted by the GIDC’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in partnership with the Grenada Development Bank (GDB), reflecting the institutions’ shared commitment to promoting financial literacy, entrepreneurship and responsible financial decision-making among young people.

Congratulating the participants, the Chief Executive Officer of the GIDC Ronald Thedore commended the students for their exceptional performances throughout the tournament.

“Each team brought determination, teamwork and a willingness to learn, making this an exciting and rewarding experience. We congratulate Presentation Brothers College on its victory and applaud Westmorland School, St. George’s Institute and all participating schools for their outstanding efforts. These students have demonstrated that they have the potential to become informed, innovative and financially responsible leaders of tomorrow.”

GDB General Manager Royston Cumberbatch challenged the students to view the competition as the beginning of a lifelong journey towards financial empowerment.

“While we congratulate the winning team and celebrate the achievements of every participant, I want to encourage our students to see this competition as a starting point, not the finish line. Continue to ask questions, learn about saving, budgeting, borrowing, investing and entrepreneurship, and apply that knowledge to the decisions you make every day. The more financially informed you become, the better equipped you will be to secure your own future and contribute to the financial well-being and economic development of Grenada.”

The GIDC’s IPA and GDB remain committed to supporting initiatives that equip young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make sound financial decisions. By investing in financial education, the institutions seek to help build a generation of informed individuals who can manage their resources responsibly, pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute meaningfully to national development.
