PRIME MINISTER CALLS FOR A UNITED NATION ON 49TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS

In his first Independence Day address delivered yesterday at the 49th Independence Anniversary parade and rally at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium, Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell says his governing NDC administration remains committed to working with all Grenadians.

Highlighting this year’s theme: “The Journey to 50: Reflecting on the Past, Planning for the Future” Prime Minister Mitchell called for continued unity.

Looking back on Grenada’s history, Prime Minister Mitchell urges Grenadians to forge ahead with hope for a renewed country.

Further, the Prime Minister speaks of actively exploring and engaging in discussions on Grenada’s prospects for Wind, Solar and Geo-Thermal Energy.

He emphasized that Grenada has the potential to achieve renewable energy generation in the electricity sector.

The Prime Minister also speaks of his government’s intention to provide opportunities to citizens for the advancement of the nation, especially youth.
