Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has congratulated Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness on his resounding victory at the polls yesterday.

Dr. Mitchell says the results of Thursday’s polls “speak to the level of confidence the people of Jamaica have placed in Mr. Holness’ leadership style, and his ability to take the country forward, especially in these difficult times.” Holness’ Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) was returned to office following a 49-14 seat victory in the preliminary count.

Dr. Mitchell, who was the guest speaker at the JLP’s 76th annual conference in November last year, assured Mr. Holness of his commitment to building on their already solid relationship and “working with him in moving the regional agenda forward.”
Dr. Mitchell and Mr. Holness also share a special relationship as members of the Caribbean Democratic Union family.
