Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, says Grenada today on its 50th anniversary of Independence stands on the shoulders of the Nation’s people who labored over the decades.
He was yesterday addressing the 50th Independence anniversary parade and cultural rally at the National Stadium, marking celebrations on the occasion.
He labeled the Father of the Nation, Sir Eric Matthew Gairy being instrumental among the movers and shakers of the country’s development over the many decades of history.
Prime Minister Mitchell also paid homage to the Nation’s women who led the charge, according to him, “for not just their own equality, but for the Nation of Grenada”.
Prime Minister Mitchell called on the Nation to continue the journey which today presents a plethora of innovation indicative with development of the future.
