Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, is to attend the 44th CARICOM Heads of Government Inter-Sessional Conference, which will be held in the Bahamas this week, February 15 to 17.
The Meeting will be held under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Philip Davis.
Prime Minister Mitchell will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, Joseph Andall.
The Grenada representatives due to leave the state for the meeting tomorrow.
The inter-sessional agenda will seek to cover several recurring and new issues.
It’s expected that Haiti will be a talking point.
Key among them will be reform of the global financial architecture, where a number of foreign guests will discuss political, economic and financial matters relevant to the region.
The CARICOM Single Market and Economy, Climate Change, including matters of Climate Finance, Agriculture and Food Security, Security, and Health, will again be in focus.
CARICOM is the oldest surviving integration movement in the developing world…a grouping of twenty countries:- fifteen Member States and five Associate Members.
